My First Post
Introduction
This is bold text, and this is emphasized text.
We are adding content in markdown format, which is cool. Thanks, John! You’re one Daring Fireball, my friend. It’d be cool to meet you in person one day.
I wonder where I’d host this if I wanted to try it out. I could, of course, use a VPS, but maybe there’s an easier, free way? With a static site generator, there’s not much chance of lock-in to a particular hosting vendor like there would be for dynamic content.
Cool that when I save, the updates are updated live in the browser. Liking Hugo already, dispaite the buzz around Astro and other engines. Probably since I’ve been working in Go it seenms to fit pretty well with my mental models. (But I’ve only started messing around with the intro project.) Still, I’m running into way less headaches than I did with Node and all its madness with Astro.
11ty is also so flexible that it’s a little bewildering to get started with. Using a Go-based templating engine is also kind of nice sense I don’t have the habits and background with Nunjucks or the other 11ty templating languages.
I’m sure this’d be the case with any of these, but I’m enjoying the focus and simplicity of using NeoVIM to write the content (and edit the site).
I’m going to go take a look as some suggested hosting options.
